Video: Happy Halloween, sexy.

One of the unexpected perks that sometimes goes along with having a personal style blog is the amount of review opportunities I'm given. I try to only do reviews on products that I think you will appreciate or things that I myself may buy. Obviously I jumped at a chance to review any costume of my choice from SexyCostumes.com. I thought a video review was the only way to do my review justice... (this is sfw-- I swear!):

You like? It was a close call, y'all. I almost got one of these animal costumes, instead:

See you on Monday!

Just a quick little note to thank you all for the prayers, emails, comments, and well wishes. My endocrinologist had me switch up my meds and referred me to another specialist to rule out any sort of immune disorders. The change in medicine alone has been a great help, and I'm already feeling much better.

On Monday, I'll have a video blog ready for you and I plan to be back to my regular blogging schedule then. As you can imagine, I'll be playing catch up for most of November. I have quite a few D12 items and a few new/ thrifted items to show off. Most distressing, though, is that according to my inbox I owe 441 people emails (sorry for the delay!).

My mom is here from Thailand helping out and Chris and my best friend Bee have been amazing, too. While I've been resting, I've been doing up some DIY's, so I'll be showing you those this month, too. Here's a snapshot of a dress I made out of two scarves from Accessorize.

And here's a sneak peek at the Halloween costumes I'm working on for Jude and his best friend:

Can you tell who they're going to be?

I've also been reading like crazy thanks to discovering Lendle.me (where people loan each other Kindle books), signing up for Kindle books at the Austin Public Library, and downloading pretty much every semi-interesting free Kindle book that I see on Saving with Shellie. In the last month I've read Pride and Prejudice, Imaginary Jesus, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, Sixteen Brides, Maid to Match, The Preacher's Bride, Water for Elephants, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Next on the reading docket? The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth followed by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Again, thanks so much for checking up on me and sticking with me during my down time. By Monday I'll finally have an iPhone in my hot little hands (yay, Sprint!), so I hope that will encourage me to take a lot more photos. See you Monday via video!

Thinking of you...

Hi, everyone! Gosh, I miss you. For the last three weeks I've been quite ill. I was well enough to go to my grandma's in Indiana for vacation last week and for Jude's midwest birthday party, but when I returned, I became ill again.

I've mentioned this before, but I have a Hashimoto's Syndrome, which is a thyroid disease that is usually pretty easy to control with medicine. However, lately, my symptoms are worse than they've ever been: I'm weak, I'm cold, my skin is scaly, I can't shake about 10 pounds that I've gained, my hips and shoulders hurt constantly, and quite honestly, I feel like I'm thinking in a fog. I just don't feel like me and all I want to do is sleep.

Don't feel sorry for me, though. I have a great doctor who I'm finally going to see on Monday, and Chris and my best friend Bee have been a huge help to me.

I just wanted to take a couple minutes and let you know why you've gotten radio silence here. I did not die. I am not quitting my blog. I miss you dearly and hope to be back in action as soon as I'm feeling up to snuff. If you're the praying type, I would love it if you could pray that I get back on my feet sooner rather than later.

Let's not be sad. Here's a photo from Jude's birthday party invite. The theme was "book nerd". Let's all laugh at that, okay?

Happy birthday Jude! Can you believe I have a one year old already?
