a new skincare regimen
I have been a serious brand loyalist since middle school. For instance, I only eat Kraft Mac and Cheese, I only use Teen Spirit deodorant (yes, really), and I have worn Clinique make-up ever since I started wearing make-up. In fact, my devotion to Clinique is rather serious: I worked for Clinique in college and even kept a beauty advisor blog back in the day.
However, I am about to stray, and that makes me nervous. As bold as I can be with my fashion choices, I am never bold with my skincare routine. I like it the same day after day. However, since this summer, my skin has been far worse than usual. In fact, it was rather embarrassing filming IDCHTD with a face full of acne and acne scars. Therefore, with my paycheck, I decided it was time to get a handle on my skin. I picked up these goodies at Sephora and Ulta today:
I hope I can get my skin under control! I feel like I have a pizza face! Have y'all tried any of these products? I'll keep you posted about how well they work. I have very high hopes!

I totally suggest Pro Active. I know the first reaction is to not want to try it out because it's advertised all over the place but it ACTUALLY works. Seriously. It's worth it. No more humiliation!
Keep us posted on how that Zeno contraption works. I feel your pain on the adult acne. I thought by 30 I would be zit free! What gives? After 2 rounds of Accutane over the years (bleh!) and countless creams, I am looking pretty clear these days with an oral antibiotic and Epiduo gel. We'll see how long it can last...
Hey Indiana - Just wanted to say I saw you recently at Runway to Heaven, and your complexion was perfection! My friend Rene was like..."that girl is stunning."
I think it's awesome that you are so open and honest about this one - I think skin issues are something that a TON of adult women deal with. (Stress...eesh..) But as someone who knows you in person, I just wanted to weigh in and say your skins is totally creamy looking, up-close and against bright lights! Do keep us posted on your goodies, though - I would love to try some new items myself. :)
Hm, although I had the typical teen breakouts once I STOPPED using all that stuff on my face, my skin has never been better. No joke. I warm facecloth and some eye makeup remover is all this girl needs!
Good luck with your new purchases though I hope you get some great results!
I LOVE the clarisonic!! Just one thing that I have heard (it didn't happen to me but it did to some of my friends) it can make you break out at first but just stick with it, then you will have amazing skin!
I also had that smashbox set and it is really wonderful. and GREAT for the money. Just make sure it is your perfect color! Good luck!
Girl, I already have pretty supple skin but that Clarisonic will take you to higher heights!!! I promise, just do it nightly and use that timed button to work the face. I use the Plus :)
I love the Clarisonic. It made me break out really bad when i first started using it and then after that it was completly smooth skin!
Maybe the teen spirit is eeking thru your armpits and making you face breakout!! Let me know if the zapper works!

i just ordered a clarisonic skincare system on qvc this morning! i have been thinking about it for so long now and finally did it! i am excited to use it with my all time favorite cleaner...philosophy's purity.
you must post how the zeno works out. occasionally, i get massive hundred year zits only on my chin (down from the corners of my mouth)and hate them. i have been curious about a zapper also.
makeup...i used to be a clinique user too. now i use bare minerals, cg's trublend, or laura mercier tinted moisturizer. i love all three. just depends on my mood i guess. once i learned how to put liquid makeup on, i was less afraid of it.
Hey Dee. I swear by Lush products. www.lush.com. I used to have an awful acne problem and my friend who worked at the Carmel Lush store told me to try a product called Fresh Farmacy and I haven't had a breakout since!!! Not sure if there's an Austin store, but you can order online too. Awesome products. All natural.
I actually had an awful experience with proactive. It made my acne worse.
I used the clarisonic thing... it made my skin feel super soft! I'm not sure it improved anything, but was a good exfoliater. Unfortunately I'm lazy and stopped using it since it takes extra time in the shower. Hopefully you'll be more committed!
I would have sent you my Zeno if I knew you were going to spend all that money on one. (It only sounds gross; The tips are replaceable.) It ended up making every blemish I used it on worse. My dermatologist got things under control for me over the past two years. The Zeno just sits in its box... lonely. I hear it really works for some people, so I should find it a good home someday.
I haven't tried most of the products you've bought, but I have tried the Clarisonic, and it's really good. It works wonders. We really have to pamper our skin in one way or another.
